In the summer of 1996 I worked as an intern at the Oshkosh Northwestern, a daily newspaper in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I was on the general news desk. I returned to Northern Michigan University for my last year of school there and was immediately hired on the business desk at the Northwestern in May 1997.
